ESIC UDC Syllabus 2022

Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has announced the recruitment of a large number of candidates for the post of Upper Division Clerk (UDC) in various regions. In addition to the Upper Division Clerk, candidates in other posts such as Stenographer, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), etc. are also being recruited by ESIC. As our today’s post is only about ESIC UDC Syllabus 2022, we will discuss only ESIC UDC related information in this post.

ESIC UDC Selection Process

Candidates have to go through three stages to be selected for the post of ESIC Upper Division Clerk 2022. The first stage is the Preliminary Examination which is Qualifying in Nature, the second stage is the Mains Examination and the third or final stage is Computer Skill Test which is also qualifying in nature.

Note 1: Candidates will be called for the second stage or mains examination in the ratio of 1:10 of vacancies after the ESIC UDC preliminary examination.

Note 2: Candidates will be called Computer Skill Test in the ratio of 1: 5 of vacancies based on the results of the ESIC UDC second stage or mains examination.

ESIC UDC Exam Pattern

The ESIC UDC 2022 exam will be conducted in three phases, namely, Phase I: Preliminary, Phase II: Mains, Phase III: Computer Skill Test. So I discussed the exam pattern of these three phases separately below.

ESIC UDC Preliminary Exam Pattern

  • ESIC UDC exam pattern for Preliminary Examination is Computer Based Test (CBT) that consists of multiple-choice objective type questions.
  • ESIC UDC Prelims exam has a total of 100 questions for 200 marks, i.e. the value of each question is 2 marks. ESIC UDC Syllabus 2022 is discussed in detail below.
  • The questions of the ESIC UDC Preliminary Examination are divided into four segments, i.e. 25 questions in each segment.
  • The time allotted for the ESIC UDC Prelims exam is 1 hour (60 Minutes).
  • There will be a NEGATIVE MARKING of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question (0.5 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer).
  • Question papers of three segments of ESIC UDC Prelims (1. General Intelligence and Reasoning, 2. General Awareness, 3. Quantitative Aptitude) will be prepared in English and Hindi language. The question of the 4th segment i.e. “English Comprehension” will be in English Language only.
  • The marks obtained in the ESIC UDC preliminary examination will not be taken into account in making the final merit list, as it is Qualifying in Nature.

ESIC UDC Mains Exam Pattern

  • ESIC UDC exam pattern for Mains Examination is also Computer Based Test (CBT) that consists of multiple-choice objective type questions.
  • ESIC UDC Mains exam has a total of 200 questions for 200 marks, i.e. the value of each question is 1 mark.
  • The questions of the ESIC UDC Mains Examination are divided into four segments, i.e. 50 questions in each segment.
  • The time allotted for the ESIC UDC Prelims exam is 2 hours (120 Minutes).
  • There will be a NEGATIVE MARKING of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question (0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer).
  • Question papers of three segments of ESIC UDC Mains (1. General Intelligence and Reasoning, 2. General Awareness, 3. Quantitative Aptitude) will be prepared in English and Hindi language. The question of the 4th segment i.e. “English Comprehension” will be in English Language only.
  • The marks obtained in the ESIC UDC 2022 Phase-II or Mains Examination will be considered for final selection.

ESIC UDC Computer Skill Test Exam Pattern

  • Qualified candidates of the Mains examination of ESIC UDC will have to go through a Computer Skill Test of 50 marks.
  • The Computer Skill Test will have 3 types of questions.
  • Computer Skill Test which is qualifying in nature.
  • The time allotted for the Computer Skill Test is 30 Minutes.

ESIC UDC Marks Distribution

Each of the three phases of ESIC UDC 2022 (Prelims, Mains, Computer Skill Test) has subject-based marks division but no subject-based time division.

Post Name: Upper Division Clerk (UDC)

Age Limit: 18 years to 27 years (as of 15.02.2022)

Educational Qualification:

  1. Graduation in any stream from any recognised University.
  2. Working knowledge of Computers including the use of office suites and databases.
